The Wu Shouyuan 吴守元
Paul PengShare
Wu Shouyuan was a Taoist priest at Kaiyuan Guan (Kaiyuan Taoist Temple) during the reign of Emperor Xizong of the Tang Dynasty.
In the first year of the Wende era (888 CE), the son of a court official surnamed Zhang was staying in Suzhou. He was tormented by a ghost, grew emaciated from illness, and was on the verge of death. Wu Shouyuan gave him a talisman, told him to burn it, and the illness and torment were immediately eliminated.
