The Wu Yingneng 吴应能
Paul PengShare
Wu Yingneng was a native of Longquan (present-day Longquan County, Zhejiang Province) during the reign of Emperor Huizong of the Northern Song Dynasty.
He was a Daoist Priest at Fengling Palace, skilled in curing illnesses and conducting prayers using talisman-charged water, with quite effective results.

During the Chongning era (1102–1106), he was summoned to the imperial court for an audience. His responses to the emperor’s questions met the imperial will, so he was bestowed the title "Mr. Dongyuan Miaoying" (literally "Master of Cavernous Primordiality and Wonderful Response"). Fengling Palace was renamed Tianning Wanshou Palace (Palace of Heavenly Tranquility and Eternal Longevity), and Wu Yingneng was appointed as its abbot.
