The Xi Yingzhen 席应珍

Xi Yingzhen (1300-1381) was a native of Haiyu in the Ming Dynasty, which is now Changshu City, Jiangsu Province. His courtesy name was Xinzhai.

In his youth, he became a Taoist priest. He studied the doctrines of Laozi and Zhuangzi, conducted in-depth research on esoteric talismans and records, had a thorough understanding of the essential methods of internal alchemy, and was also versed in Confucianism—with a particular expertise in The I Ching.

He resided at Lingying Taoist Temple in Xiangcheng and was an intimate friend (a "wangxing jiao," meaning a friendship beyond formalities) with Daoyan, a Buddhist monk.

Later, he held the position of "Tiju" (an official in charge of temple affairs) at Zhidao Taoist Temple on Yushan. For detailed accounts of his life, please refer to Collected Poems of Successive Dynasties.

Ordained at 25 after a dream from the Celestial Master, he has practiced for 25 years under Master Zeng Guangliang. He is one of the curators of this store, which is officially authorized by Tianshi Fu. All items are consecrated at the temple by the resident priest team.
