Xi Yukang lived during the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China.
Styled Weigen and Xifan, he also assumed the literary names Baorenzi and Liyi.

He had a lifelong fondness for Huang-Lao philosophy and was proficient in medical theory, I Ching theory, and metaphysical theory.
He studied under Zhang Baitao and practiced inner alchemy Taoist methods.
He compiled A Compilation of Illustrations and Essentials of Internal and External Qigong.
