The Xia Wenyong 夏文泳
Paul PengShare
During the reign of Emperor Chengzong of the Yuan Dynasty, Xia Wenyong, a native of Guixi County, entered Longhu Mountain (a sacred mountain of Taoism) and became a Taoist monk at Daguan Hall. He studied under Wu Quanjie (a prominent Taoist master of the time).
He served Emperor Wuzong of the Yuan Dynasty in the Eastern Palace (the residence of the crown prince). In the 11th year of the Dade reign (1307), by imperial edict, he was conferred the title of "Yuan Dao Wen De Zhong He Dharma Master" and appointed as the Tidian (a managerial official in Taoist temples) of Chongzhen Wanshou Palace in Dadu (the capital of the Yuan Dynasty, present-day Beijing).

In the 4th year of the Zhida reign (1311), he was again honored by imperial edict with the title of "Yuan Cheng Wen Zheng Zhong He Zhenren" (Zhenren, meaning "True Person," is a high honorific title for accomplished Taoists) and appointed as the Chief Tidian of Taoism in regions including Jianghuai, Jingxiang, and other areas.
