The Xing Dao'an 邢道安
Paul PengShare
Xing Dao'an was a native of Lintong County (now part of Shaanxi Province) during the Jin and Yuan dynasties, and his courtesy name was Dening.

Before reaching the age of adulthood (the coming-of-age ceremony), he abandoned his family and wandered as a hermit beyond the secular world. He studied under Master Xidengzi Ran, the grandson of Ma Danyang. Later, he traveled across areas including Shangluo, Qinlong, Xihe, and Lanhui. In the early Yuan Dynasty, he arrived in Fanchuan, where he built a Taoist hut named Mo'an (Silent Hut). This hut thus became a renowned scenic spot in Fanchuan. Details of his life story can be found in Records of Mo'an.
