The Xing Gongguang 邢功广

Xing Gongguang (c. 1723–?) was a native of Tongzhou in Shuntian Prefecture (now part of Beijing Municipality) during the Yongzheng reign of the Qing Dynasty, and his literary name was Yichanzi.

In his youth, he was proficient in traditional Chinese medicine, divination, and numerology. When he grew older, he read Baopuzi (The Master Who Embraces Simplicity) and thus gained an understanding of the Dao of Golden Elixir (a core concept in Taoist alchemy). He traveled extensively to visit virtuous and learned scholars, using his practice of medicine as a cover.

Later, he met Zheng Shangcheng, who revealed the profound principles (of Taoism) to him. Thereupon, Xing Gongguang converted to Taoism and subsequently became the 16th-generation patriarch of the Nanwu School (a branch of Taoism).

Ordained at 25 after a dream from the Celestial Master, he has practiced for 25 years under Master Zeng Guangliang. He is one of the curators of this store, which is officially authorized by Tianshi Fu. All items are consecrated at the temple by the resident priest team.
