The Xuan Lan Ren Niao Shan Jing Tu 玄览人鸟山经图

Formerly titled The Numinous Treasure Five Talismans: The Scripture of Humans and Birds.

In Volume 20 of Declarations of the Perfected by Tao Hongjing, it is stated: "During the Southern Dynasties, the Taoist priest Lu Xiujing expounded texts such as The True Script and Red Book and The Five Talismans of Humans and Birds, and their teaching and practice had already become widespread."

Content cited from The Cave Mysterium Five Talismans Scripture in Volume 4 of The Supreme Secret Essentials also appears in this text. From this, we can infer that this work is an ancient Taoist text from the Northern and Southern Dynasties.

The present version is included in the Taoist Canon, under the category of "Numinous Diagrams" in the Cave Mysterium Division, and its full text is also recorded in Volume 80 of The Seven Bamboo Tablets of the Cloudy Satchel.

Human-Bird Mountain is a Taoist immortal mountain. Records of the Ten Continents and Three Islands already mentions that there is a great mountain on Juku Continent shaped like a human-bird form. This text also states: "Countless celestial realms each have a Human-Bird Mountain, with the likeness of a human and the form of a bird; its peaks and cliffs are extremely steep, beyond all description."

It further notes that the mountain is abundant with spiritual sites, all formed from wonderful qi, and is inhabited by divine perfected beings such as the Primordial Heavenly King and the Great Emperor Lord. All these spiritual sites and immortal residences are depicted in the "Diagram of the Form of Human-Bird Mountain". For those cultivating the Tao, if they can close their eyes and visualize the mountain’s spiritual sites and divine perfected beings, recite secret incantations, perform sacrificial rituals, and wear or swallow the Diagram of the Form of Human-Bird Mountain, they can summon true deities to welcome them and ascend to the Three Pure Ones.

This is one of the early Taoist cultivation spells and techniques.
