The Xue Jizhao 薛季昭

Xue Jizhao, who lived during the Dade period of the Yuan Dynasty, styled himself Xianweng and signed his works as "a native of Binghu in Jiujiang".
In the 7th year of the Dade reign (1303), he compiled Annotations on the Supreme Sutra of the Primordial tianzun for Delivering All Beings, a three-volume work, and presented it to the imperial court. In the memorial accompanying the presentation, he stated that this work "draws on the profound discussions of various seniors to form a unique academic system;

it broadens readers' perspectives, elaborates on the meaning of each character, and analyzes each chapter in detail". The work is concise and comprehensive, making it suitable for beginners to read.
