The Xue Xuantong 薛玄同
Paul PengShare
Xue Xuantong was a female Taoist priest at the end of the Tang Dynasty and was later revered as a female immortal in the Song Dynasty.

After marriage, she lived alone in a room to practice Taoism and recited The Huangting Scripture for thirteen years. In the first year of the Zhonghe era (881), she achieved "shijie" (a Taoist term referring to the ascension of an immortal by leaving the mortal body behind). Her face looked as if she were still alive, and her black hair continued to grow.
