Xue Zhixuan lived during the late Song and early Yuan dynasties. His courtesy name was Yongzhai, and he was bestowed the honorific title "Zhenren of Taixia" (True Person of the Grand Rosy Clouds).
He compiled Wenzang Zuanwei Kaiti Kewen Shu (A Five-Volume Commentary on the Subtle Compilation and Thematic Introduction to the Venerable Scripture of the Dao and De) in five volumes, and Wenzang Zuanwei Shouchao (A Hand-Copied Version of the Subtle Compilation of the Venerable Scripture of the Dao and De) in two volumes.
