Yan Qing was a native of Kuaiji (present-day Shaoxing City, Zhejiang Province) in the state of Wu during the Three Kingdoms period.
According to Volume 12 of Lishi Zhenxian Tidao Tongjian (Comprehensive Mirror of True Immortals Through the Ages Who Embodied the Dao), in his youth, he made a living by burning charcoal. While in the mountains, he encountered a supernatural being who gave him a scroll of divine prescriptions and taught him the method of taking and consuming stone marrow. He then practiced cultivation for several years, and his Daoist skills made great progress.

He treated diseases for people, and all his treatments were effective. The common people revered him greatly and called his teachings the "Yan Family Dao".

Paul Peng is a Zhengyi Taoist priest from Longhu Mountain, Jiangxi — the ancestral home of the Celestial Masters' tradition. Ordained at 25 after a dream from the Celestial Master, he has practiced for 25 years under Master Zeng Guangliang. He is one of the curators of this store, which is officially authorized by Tianshi Fu. All items are consecrated at the temple by the resident priest team.
