The Yan Yonghe 阎永和

Yan Yonghe lived during the late Qing Dynasty.

He was also known by the given name Yongyue, styled Shengjie and titled Master Yongyong.

He became a Taoist Priest and devoted himself to Taoist studies in his early years.

As recorded in the Preface to A Compilation of Taoist Canons, he succeeded to the position of abbot of Erxian Nunnery in Chengdu in the 17th year of the Guangxu reign (1892).

In the 26th year of the Guangxu reign (1900), he raised funds with He Longxiang, Peng Hanran, Yan Yanfeng, Wu Songsheng and others to reprint A Compilation of Taoist Canons. The reprinting work was completed in the 32nd year of the Guangxu reign (1906), and the original engraved blocks were preserved in Erxian Nunnery.
