The Yang Fu 杨辅
Paul PengYang Fu was a native of Taihe, Yunnan Province, during the Ming Dynasty (1368–1644), and he styled himself "Daoren Cuncheng" (the "Taoist of Upholding Sincerity"). As recorded in History of the Ming Dynasty: Unofficial Records (Ming Wai Shi):
From a young age, he took care of his mother and was known for his scholarly attainments. He was a kind and prudent person. After his mother passed away, he lived in seclusion in the stone cave at Luohanbi (Arhat Cliff) on Jizu Mountain.
He once wrote annotations for The Classic of Filial Piety (Xiao Jing), a foundational Confucian text centered on the virtue of filial piety.
