Paul PengShare
Yang Rending (991–1175) was from Xiangzhou during the Song Dynasty (now part of Henan Province), with the courtesy name Yijia.
According to Volume 16 of the "Mao Shan Zhi," he was known for his robust physique and majestic appearance. In the 30th year of the Shaoxing era (1160), he resigned from his official position and retreated to Mao Shan, where he built the Tianxin Hermitage at the foot of Biaolun Peak.

Yang Rending was highly skilled in the arts of transformation and seclusion. He passed away in the second year of the Chunxi era of Emperor Xiaozong (1175; some sources suggest the fifth year) in February, at the age of 184.
