Yang Shouhe was a figure who lived during the Jin and Yuan dynasties.

Her husband was Li Yi. When she was forty-one years old, she became a widow. She vowed never to remarry, and together with her daughter, she received the Taoist robe (formally becoming a Taoist practitioner).

Later, she accepted a female disciple named Shouzhen, and the two studied together under the True Person Chongxuan of Tianqing Guan (Tianqing Temple).

Yang Shouhe was honest and preserved her inherent purity (a Taoist virtue of maintaining one’s original, uncorrupted nature). Villagers were willing to donate money and land to support her Taoist practice, so she built a Taoist temple to live in.

In the 3rd year of the Xianzong era of the Yuan Dynasty (1253), the True Person Li Zhenchang conferred on her the Taoist title "Chunsu Sanren" (Hermit of Pure Simplicity), and the hut/temple she built was named Jizhen Guan (Jizhen Temple). She lived to the age of seventy.
