The Yang Wei 杨维
Paul PengShare
Yang Wei (?-1177) was a native of Nanping (now Nanping County, Fujian Province) during the early Southern Song Dynasty. According to The Annals of Quanzhou Prefecture, his courtesy name was Gengchang. He could only speak when he was seven years old; when he grew up, he became a Taoist priest.

He encountered a Perfected Person (a high-achieving Taoist practitioner), who taught him the "Sanwu Feisheng Zhaolei Method" (the Method of Soaring Ascension and Summoning Thunder Based on the "Three and Five" Daoist Principles). He was able to call forth wind, command thunder, pray for rain, and beseech for clear weather—all of these acts were efficacious.
In the winter of the 4th year of the Chunxi era (1177), he passed away without suffering from any illness and was posthumously granted the title "Perfected Person Qingyin Miaoji Piyun" (the Cloud-Cloaked Perfected Person of Pure Seclusion, Wonderful Salvation).
