Paul Peng
Yao Laijian was a native of Wuxing, Zhejiang Province in the late Qing Dynasty.

In his youth, he was fond of Taoism and enjoyed studying metaphysics.

He initially practiced the Complete Methods of Lingbao, showing constant diligence and no laziness.

Later, he converted to the orthodox Longmen School, founded the Jueyun Altar Sect, and served as its 13th-generation Grand Patriarch.

Yao Laijian was a benevolent and generous man. He ran the Renji Charity Hall, providing disaster relief to the people, taking in orphans and fostering infants, and courageously doing good deeds with meticulous care.
