The Ye Qingche 叶清彻

The Ye Qingche 叶清彻

Paul Peng
Ye Qingche was a native of Liuhe, Anhui Province, in the early Qing Dynasty, and his Taoist title was Minyang.

As recorded in Jingai Xindeng (The Golden Canopy Lamp of the Heart): "Ye Qingche came from a wealthy and powerful family. He was extremely fond of supernatural powers. Later, after his family fell into ruin, he went traveling. In Lu’an Prefecture, Shanxi Province, he met Meng Qinghuang, who took him back to Jingu Cave (Golden Drum Cave) in Zhejiang Province. There, he studied under Zhou Tailang, who transmitted teachings and conferred precepts upon him, giving him the Taoist name 'Qingche'.

Ye Qingche resided at Songsheng Guan (Songsheng Taoist Temple) for several decades. He strictly adhered to the sect’s rules and precepts, and his reputation as a Taoist master grew increasingly prominent over time."
