Ritual of Redeeming Souls with the Ten Continents and Three Isles in the Yellow Register Fasting

The compiler remains anonymous. Judging from its literary tenor, it was presumably composed between the Song and Yuan dynasties, reflecting the Taoist cultural context of the Song Dynasty.
It is included in the Ritual Norms Section of the Cavern Mystery Division of The Daozang.

This ritual eulogizes the magnificent scenery of the immortal abodes of the Ten Continents and Three Isles respectively. It exhorts the deceased spirits to see through worldly glory and wealth, mortal love and familial bonds, to abandon their obsession with the mortal world, and thus break free from the mortal cage forever—an enlightenment rooted in the Taoist understanding of Three Realms.

It also prays for all the sacred immortals to shed their divine radiance and guide the souls, redeeming the deceased spirits and elevating them to ascend into the immortal realms.
