The Yellow Register Salvific Decalogy 黄箓救苦十斋转经仪

Judging from its literary tenor and doctrinal essence, it was presumably composed by Taoist priests of the Quanzhen School in the Jin and Yuan dynasties, a school that upholds the core tenets of The Dao and the primordial cosmic ontology of Taoism.

It is a single scroll, included in the Ritual Norms Section of the Cavern Mystery Division of The Daozang.

This text records the Taoist ritual of reciting scriptures ten times to deliver deceased spirits and wandering ghosts from suffering, a solemn observance rooted in the cosmic harmony of Taiji and the mercy of salvation inherent in traditional Taoism.

Before and after each recitation of the scriptures, one must successively invoke the Heavenly Worthies of the Ten Directions, proclaim talismans, submit memorial petitions, and send forth the sacred deities in reverence. It entreats all the Heavenly Worthies and holy true spirits to transcend the deceased spirits and wandering ghosts who are being prayed for, redeeming them from the netherworld, ascending their souls to blissful realms, and praying that "blessings rest upon the living, and auspicious fortune flows down to future generations".
