The Zhan Taichu 詹太初
Paul PengShare
Zhan Taichu lived during the reigns of Emperors Shenzong and Zhezong of the Northern Song Dynasty. His courtesy name was Yuanzuo.
He was originally a Taoist at Chongyou Taoist Temple on Wuyi Mountain. During the Xining era of the Northern Song Dynasty (1068–1077), he began to reside on Huagai Mountain.

He possessed Taoist arts: he could predict future events, and he practiced alchemy (refining cinnabar, a key substance in Taoist alchemical practices) to treat people’s illnesses—all his deeds were renowned for their miraculous effects.
