The Zhan Tailin 詹太林
Paul PengShare
Zhan Tailin lived during the Kangxi reign period of the Qing Dynasty. According to Tai Shang Lü Mai Yuan Liu (Origin and Development of the Supreme Precept Lineage), Tailin studied Confucianism in his childhood. In his youth, he admired the otherworldly demeanor of Taoism (the "Xuánmén" or Taoist school). In the 19th year of the Kangxi reign (1690), he met Taoist Master Tan Xinyue (a "Lǜshī" or Precept-Master), and studied Taoist doctrines and rituals under him.

He was a "Lǜshī" (Precept-Master) for transmitting precepts in the 9th generation of the Longmen Sect (the most influential branch of Quanzhen Taoism).
