The Zhang Bingyi 张秉一

The Zhang Bingyi 张秉一

Paul Peng
Zhang Bingyi was the 21st Heavenly Master of the Zhengyi School (Orthodox Unity School) of Taoism.

His courtesy name was Wenfu, and he was the eldest son of Zhang Chen.

His mother became pregnant after dreaming that a golden tortoise entered her abdomen.
When he grew up, his eyes were bright and piercing, able to see objects at night and even see through the other side of a wall.
He often traveled through mountains and rivers, carrying a sword and a mirror with him. He passed away at the age of ninety-two. In the 13th year of the Zhizheng era of the Yuan Dynasty (1353), he was posthumously conferred the title "Chongxuan Ziji Zhaohua Zhenjun" (True Lord of Profound Mystery, Purple Pinnacle, and Illuminating Transformation).
