Zhang Jinfu lived during the Taiding period of the Yuan Dynasty (1324-1327).
He was granted a purple brocade robe trimmed with lace (a garment symbolizing imperial favor and high status in ancient China) and bestowed the honorific title "Great Master of Preserving Truth" (Baozhen Dashi).

He served as the "Tidian" (administrative supervisor) of Taiqing Temple, located in Taiqiao Village, Taihe County, Yingzhou Prefecture, Runing Fu (ancient administrative divisions, roughly covering areas in present-day Henan Province).
