Zhang Jingzhong (? - 1440) was a native of Changzhou (now part of Jiangsu Province) in the early Ming Dynasty.

He was commonly known as "Zhang Pique" (Zhang the Sparrow-Skinned) and later changed his name to Zhang Daoxiu, with the courtesy name Yunfeng.

His father, Zhang Zun, served as a counselor in Jiangxi Province during the Hongwu reign period (1368-1398).

Zhang Jingzhong had aspirations of withdrawing from secular life when he was just a teenager.

At the age of 16, he went to Suzhou, became a Taoist priest at Yuanmiao Temple, and studied under Taoist Hu Dao'an. He was diligent in his studies and made steady progress in Taoist practices.

Later, he fully mastered the esoteric techniques of Mo Yueding (a renowned Taoist master) and was famous for practicing the Five-Thunder Magic. His reputation for Taoist attainments spread across the Wu and Chu regions (covering parts of present-day Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Hubei, and Hunan).

He passed away without illness in the fifth year of the Zhengtong reign (1440). Detailed accounts of his life can be found in Volume Three of The Annals of Yuanmiao Temple.
