Zhang Keda was the 35th Heavenly Master of the Zhengyi Sect.

His courtesy name was Zixian. He was the younger brother of Zhang Jingyuan, the grandson of Zhang Boyu, and the second son of Zhang Tianlin (honored as "Mr. Renjing").
In the third year of the Shaoding reign of Emperor Lizong of the Song Dynasty (1230), he inherited the Taoist clerical position. Under his influence, Taoist teachings prevailed widely, and a large number of people from all over the country came to receive Taoist rituals and talismans (Falu) from him.

He was once summoned to the temporary imperial capital by imperial edict to conduct Taoist fasting and sacrificial ceremonies (Zhaijiao) for purposes such as praying for rain, receding tides, warding off locust plagues, and eliminating the calamity of war. He achieved remarkable results in all these endeavors, thus being conferred the title "Mr. Guanmiao" (Mr. Who Observes the Subtle Mysteries) by the emperor.

Zhang Keda passed away in the fourth year of the Jingding reign of the Song Dynasty (1263) at the age of 46. Emperor Shizu of the Yuan Dynasty later posthumously awarded him the title "Zhenjun Tongxuan Yinghua Guanmiao" (True Lord of Penetrating Mystery, Responding to Transformation, and Observing Subtle Mysteries).
