Zhang Ruohai was a figure who lived during the Five Dynasties period. He was also known by the Taoist title "Wuweizi" (Master of Awakening to Innocence).
He encountered Mr. Yunguang, who imparted to him the "Sandong Kejiao" (Esoteric Teachings and Rituals of the Three Grottoes)—a core set of scriptures and ritual systems in Taoism.

In the 8th year of the Tianfu era of the Later Jin Dynasty (943 CE), he compiled Xuantan Kanwu Lun (Treatise on Correcting Errors at the Mysterious Altar), a work in one volume.
