Originally, he served as the Taoist Registrar of Tanzhou Circuit and the Abbot-Supervisor of Yuelu Wanshou Palace.

In the sixth year of the Dade era of the Yuan Dynasty (1302), he was officially appointed by imperial decree with the Taoist title "Dharma Master of Bright Purity, Transcendent Emptiness, and Penetrating Subtlety," and took up the posts of Supervisor and Administrator of the Supreme Clarity Zhengyi Palace on Longhu Mountain, concurrently managing affairs of all Taoist temples on the mountain.
