The Zhang Yi 张颐

Zhang Yi, the 17th Heavenly Master of the Zhengyi School (a major school of Taoism).
His courtesy name was Zhongfu (also recorded as Zhongfu in some sources), and he was the eldest son of Zhang Yingshao.

He was extremely filial to his mother, and his reputation for filial piety spread far and wide in his hometown and surrounding areas.

He once served as the Guishui Wei (a county-level official in charge of public security and judicial affairs) in his native county; later, he abandoned his official post to inherit the Taoist teaching position (i.e., the position of Heavenly Master). He lived to the age of 87.
In the 13th year of the Zhizheng era of the Yuan Dynasty (1353), he was posthumously conferred the title of "Dongxu Chanjiao Fuyou True Lord".
