The Zhang Yingshao 张应韶
Paul PengShare
Zhang Yingshao, the 16th Heavenly Master of the Zhengyi School (a major school of Taoism). His courtesy name was Zhifeng, and he was the eldest son of Zhang Gao.
Shortly after succeeding to the position of Heavenly Master, he passed down the Zhengyi School’s ritual seal and magic sword to his eldest son Zhang Yi, then retreated to live in seclusion in the mountains. He was erudite and versatile, with a profound mastery of Confucian classics and historical records. He enjoyed playing a iron flute, and the sound of his flute could be heard several li away (one li is approximately 0.5 kilometers).

He lived to the age of 97 before passing away. In the 13th year of the Zhizheng era of the Yuan Dynasty (1353), he was posthumously conferred the title of "Dongxu Yandao Chongsu True Lord".
