Zhang Yudi (?-1294), courtesy name Guohua and literary name Xiweizi, was the 37th Celestial Master of the Zhengyi Sect (Orthodox Unity Sect) of Taoism and the son of Zhang Zongyan.

From a young age, he had a passion for poetry and prose, and could compose works of thousands of words in one sitting. As a teenager, he accompanied his father to the imperial court; he was quick-witted in answering the emperor’s questions, and the emperor praised him on numerous occasions.
Emperor Shizu of the Yuan Dynasty (Kublai Khan), recognizing his profound understanding of the Three Teachings (Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism), issued an imperial decree appointing him to oversee Taoist affairs in all circuits south of the Yangtze River, and bestowed upon him the honorific title "True Person of Embodied Mystery, Promoted Dao, and Expanded Teaching".

In the 31st year of the Zhiyuan era of Emperor Shizu of the Yuan Dynasty (1294), Zhang Yudi was ordered to hold a jiao (Taoist ritual ceremony) at Yuandian Hall and Changchun Palace. Soon after, he passed away at Chongzhen Palace.

Emperor Chengzong of the Yuan Dynasty then sent envoys to escort his coffin back to his ancestral mountain, and issued an edict for all court officials to attend the funeral procession at the capital’s city gate. Later, Zhang Yudi was buried in Yutian.
