Zhang Zhengchang (? - 1377) was the 42nd Heavenly Master of the Zhengyi School.
His courtesy name was Zhongji, and his literary name was Chongxuzi.
He was the grandnephew of Zhang Sicheng, the 39th Heavenly Master. He was intelligent in his childhood, with bright and piercing eyes. He had a generous temperament, enjoyed reading the works of Laozi and Zhuangzi, and had a particular passion for immortal doctrines and esoteric methods.

After succeeding to his position, he was officially conferred the title "Great True Person Who Protects the State, Spreads the Religion, Communicates Sincerity, Venerates Dao, and Promotes Virtue". He was in charge of the Three-Mountain Talismans and Taoist affairs in the Jiangnan region. In the first year of the Hongwu reign (1368), he went to the capital to offer congratulations. Emperor Taizu (Zhu Yuanzhang) said, "Heaven is the most revered; how can it have a 'Master'?" Thus, the title "Heavenly Master" was abolished, and Zhang Zhengchang was instead appointed "True Person Who Inherits the Zhengyi Teachings". He was granted a silver seal, and his official rank was equivalent to the second grade, with the responsibility of managing Taoist affairs.
He established auxiliary positions within the Taoist school: one was the "Zanjiao" (Assistant in Teaching Promotion) and the other was the "Zhangshu" (Director of Documentation), both to assist in handling Taoist affairs. From then on, this system became a fixed regulation.
His works include The Genealogy of the Han Dynasty Heavenly Masters.
