The Zhang Zhenyi 张真一
Paul PengShare
Zhang Zhenyi was a native of Fenyang (now part of Shanxi Province) during the Jin and Yuan dynasties. He was bestowed the literary name "Danhua Zi" (Master of Cinnabar Splendor).

As recorded in Gazetteer of Shanxi, he practiced Taoist cultivation in the ancient cave of Xiyan (Western Cliff) to the west of Fenyang City. In the early years of the Yuan Dynasty, he went to pay his respects to Qiu Chuji (a prominent Taoist master of the Quanzhen School). Later, he returned to and stayed at his former cultivation site.
