The Zhang Zhi 张直
Paul PengZhang Zhi was a native of Pengzhou (now part of Sichuan Province) during the Dali era of the Tang Dynasty (766-779).
He encountered an extraordinary person who taught him the Liuding Quyi Shu (the Technique of Commanding the Six Ding Gods, a type of esoteric Taoist ritual art). Cui Ning, the Jiedushi (military governor) of Xichuan, treated him with great respect and reverence.
