The Zhao Zhiwei 赵知微
Paul PengShare
Zhao Zhiwei lived during the Xiantong era of Emperor Yizong of the Tang Dynasty.
He built a thatched hut on Fenghuang Ridge of Jiuhua Mountain. For decades, he recited Taoist scriptures daily, wore clothes made of grass, and ate food from wild plants. His mastery of Taoist practices became prominent, and many people followed him to learn Taoism.

He was skilled in refining "yaojin" (medicinal gold, a substance valued in Taoist alchemy for its supposed healing and nourishing properties). He sent his disciples to sell (the refined medicinal gold or other alchemical products) to support themselves.
