The Zhen Youxu 甄有虚
Paul PengShare
Zhen Youxu (1819–?) was a native of Suqian County, Jinan, during the Jiaqing reign of the Qing Dynasty.
His courtesy name was Zhiben, and his art name was Ningyangzi.

From an early age, he studied Family Sayings, Records of the World, as well as various books on medicine, divination, and geography. When he grew up, he practiced quiet sitting in a secret room, thoroughly explored health preservation methods, and mastered the Five Birds Qigong.
Later, he met Zeng Bixian, through whom he first learned the Essence-Returning Alchemy. He served Zeng as his teacher, converted to the Nanwu School of Taoism, and became the 19th-generation grand master.
