The Zheng Guanguo 郑观国
Paul PengShare
Zheng Guanguo was a native of Shaowu (now Shaowu County, Fujian Province) in the early Southern Song Dynasty, and his Taoist title was "Daoren of Yuanding" (Daoren refers to a Taoist practitioner).
He became a Taoist ascetic in his youth. Later, he encountered an extraordinary person who taught him the Great Method of Internal Alchemy (a core practice in Taoist alchemy that focuses on refining one’s inner vitality, qi, and spirit, as opposed to external alchemy which uses minerals). His judgments and predictions about human affairs were quite accurate and effective.

During the Shaoxing era (1131-1162), he attained immortality and passed away. The local villagers made a statue of him and enshrined it in Zhiping Guan (Zhiping Taoist Temple) to worship and offer incense.
