Zhengyi Scripture of Methods: Rituals of the Talisman Department
Author unknown. Compiled approximately during the Northern and Southern Dynasties.

Originally one of the fragmentary scrolls of Zhengyi Scripture of Methods—a classic text of Celestial Master Daoism—the book records four types of alliance rituals, namely: The Yellow Silk Three Alliances Altar Ascension Ritual, The Supreme Unity Yellow Silk Three Alliances Ritual, The Supreme Unity Altar Ascension Yellow Silk Three Alliances Adversity Divination Conferral Ritual, and The Supreme Unity Three Alliances Conferral Ritual. All four rituals are intended for Daoist priests to receive the Supreme Unity Three Alliances talismans and scriptures during their initiation ceremonies. The text details the ritual procedures such as altar ascension, memorial submission to deities, oath-taking, and talisman conferral, as well as the relevant documents including memorial texts, alliance contracts, talismans, and oaths.
After Daoist priests take the oath and receive the talismans and scriptures, they swear an oath to the deities to faithfully observe the terms of the contracts and decrees, thereby attaining the path of immortality through cultivation.
Parts of the text are suspected to be interpolations added by later generations.
