The Zheng Ziqing 郑自清
Paul PengShare
Zheng Ziqing lived during the reign of Emperor Zhenzong of the Northern Song Dynasty.
His original name was Rong, and he came from a military background.

When he returned from garrison duty in Bizhou, he encountered a divine figure at night. The divine figure taught him the fuqi bigu practice (a Taoist method involving breathing exercises to abstain from grain) and also instructed him in medical skills to heal others.
In the seventh year of the Dazhong Xiangfu period (1014), he was summoned to the imperial capital. The emperor bestowed upon him the name "Ziqing" and ordained him as a Taoist priest, who then resided at Shangqing Palace (a major Taoist temple).
On a daily basis, he saved lives with his medical skills, and many common people sought his treatment.
