Zhou Dajing, a native of Nancheng (now part of Jiangxi Province), lived during the Kangxi and Yongzheng reigns of the Qing Dynasty. His courtesy name was Zizhuan.

He was a Taoist priest at Sanhua Courtyard of Longhu Mountain in Jiangxi. Endowed with Taoist arts, he was proficient in the Orthodox Law of the Five Thunders and the secret teachings of various talismanic traditions. He held the position of Tidian (a managerial post in Taoist temples) at his home temple.
Traveling across the country to propagate Taoism, he initiated hundreds of disciples and became renowned in the Jiangsu and Zhejiang regions.

He passed away at the age of seventy (as recorded in The Annals of Longhu Mountain).
