The Zhou Jishi 周济世

Zhou Jishi was a Taoist priest of the Huncheng Courtyard on Longhu Mountain, hailing from Guixi County, Jiangxi Province, during the Wanli reign period of the Ming Dynasty.

In the reign of Emperor Shenzong of the Ming Dynasty (known as the Wanli Emperor), he served as the Director of the Falü Bureau (Bureau of Taoist Ritual Certificates). His mastery of Taoist doctrines and rituals grew increasingly prominent over time.

 Later, Mao Wenlong, the military commander in charge of coastal islands (often referred to as "Island Commander"), and the Prince of Tang successively invited him to discuss Taoist teachings and preside over jiao ceremonies (elaborate Taoist ritual ceremonies for supplication, blessing, or repentance). After that, he traveled to Sichuan, where he resided in the Baojing Division (a local administrative and military unit of the Ming Dynasty) for several years.
