Paul PengShare
Zhou Xuandu lived during the reign of Empress Wu Zetian of the Tang Dynasty.
He was bestowed the title "Mr. Zhongyue" (Mr. of the Central Mountain), and served as the abbot of Yunbiao Guan (Yunbiao Taoist Temple) in Shenwu County of Xiangzhou, as well as a "Disciple of the Three Visions of the Great Cavern of Xuandu" (a high-ranking Taoist disciple title).

In the fourth year of Chang'an during the Great Zhou Dynasty (704 AD), he was ordered by imperial decree to hold the "Wushang Gaoyuan Jinxuan Yuqing Jiuzhuan Jinfang Duming Zhai" (a grand Taoist ritual for longevity and spiritual transcendence) at Daiyue Guan (Daiyue Taoist Temple).
