Zhou Yingyu was a Taoist priest at Fengqi Courtyard on Longhu Mountain in Jiangxi during the Chenghua reign of the Ming Dynasty.

As recorded in Longhu Mountain Records, during the Chenghua reign (1465–1487), he was officially appointed by imperial order to the position of "Zan Jiao Fa Lu Du Tiandian" (a senior Taoist official responsible for assisting in teaching and overseeing ritual registers) and conferred the title "Mr. Mingcheng Wenjie" (a honorific recognizing his integrity and literary virtue).

His collected poems and essays, titled Jiechun Ji (Collection of Universal Spring), were published and circulated in the world.
