The Zhu Dongyuan 朱洞元

Zhu Dongyuan was a native of Chengdu, Sichuan, during the Northern Song Dynasty and held the Taoist title "Zhenren Tonghui" (True Person of Universal Beneficence).

He studied under Hua Ying, from whom he learned the Taoist doctrines and practices of the Qingwei School. He lived in seclusion on Mount Qingcheng, where he expounded the profound mysteries of Lei Fa (Thunder Magic, a core ritual practice of the Qingwei School). In the Taoist celestial hierarchy, he was certified to the positions of "Qingwei Dongwei Shangqing" (High Minister of Cave Defense in the Qingwei Tradition) and "Shenxiao Wangshu Shi" (Royal Director of the Divine Firmament).
