The Zhu Taozhui 朱桃椎
Paul PengShare
Zhu Taozhui was a figure of the Tang Dynasty.
He practiced Daoism on Mount Yuzhen in Shujun Prefecture (now part of Sichuan Province), and people of his time addressed him as "Zhu Jijiu" (a respectful title, originally referring to an official in charge of sacrifices and education in ancient China, later used honorifically for virtuous scholars or Daoist practitioners). After attaining Daoist enlightenment, he mingled with woodcutters, herders, and common folks, using Daoist principles to help and enlighten people.

He authored works such as Inscription on Nourishing Life, Ode to Thatched Cottages, Song of Water Melody, and Autumn Stirring the Courtyard. These works expound on the joy of reclusive life and the secret teachings of Neidan (Internal Alchemy). Later, he was posthumously conferred the title "Perfected One of Subtle Penetration and Responsive Inspiration".
