The Zhu Yihe 朱一和

Zhu Yihe (?–1717) was a native of Fufeng County, Shaanxi Province, during the Kangxi reign of the Qing Dynasty. His courtesy name was Ziming, and his literary name was Huaiyangzi.

As recorded in The Origin and Development of the Supreme Taoist Precepts Lineage, he had the aspiration to become a Taoist Priest since his youth. After both his parents passed away, he finally fulfilled this wish and became a Taoist priest.

He traveled around as a wandering Taoist and arrived at Zitong Palace in Chengdu. There, he initiated the renovation of the palace to accommodate permanent Taoist residents and established an infirmary for the sick. He persisted in these undertakings for over a decade, earning great respect from the local people. In the 53rd year of the Kangxi reign (1714), Taoist Preceptor Mu Qingfeng came here during his travels, held a ritual altar, and performed Taoist ceremonies. Impressed by Zhu Yihe’s pure virtue and outstanding words and deeds, Mu Qingfeng imparted the Great Precepts to him.

In the 56th year of the Kangxi reign (1717), Zhu Yihe was entrusted with the Great Dharma and became the 10th Precept-transmitting Taoist Preceptor.
