Paul PengShare
Zi Shoushen was a native of Jinxiang (now part of Shandong Province) during the Jin and Yuan dynasties.
She was a Taoist nun and was bestowed the title "Great Master of Marvelous Truth".

In the second year of the Yuanguang era (1223), upon hearing that Qiu Changchun (a renowned Quanzhen Sect Taoist master) had returned to Yanjing (present-day Beijing) after answering the imperial edict, she went to Yanjing to study directly under Qiu Changchun, focusing on reflecting on her inner self and learning profound Taoist teachings.
She was instructed to establish Changchun Temple in the northwest of Tai’an County. In the eighth year of the Yuan Taizong era (1236), she was appointed as the abbot of this temple.
