Thunder Rites Demon-Subduing Spell Canon

The scripture is presented as a sermon delivered by the Haotian Jade Emperor to the Great Emperor of the Water Realm. It proclaims that the Jade Emperor can command thunder gods to move mountains and overturn seas, swallow the sun and moon, and burn demons and monsters with fierce fire.

The Jade Emperor also reveals the “Heaven-Opening Demon-Subduing Divine Spell.” It states that those who receive and uphold the Three Caverns scriptures and talismans, and recite this spell constantly, will increase the majestic power of the thunder gods.

The spell is in four-character rhyme, consisting of eighty-six lines.
