What is Small Completionin Taoism?
Zhuangzi · Qi Wu Lun (On the Equality of Things) states: "The Dao is obscured by minor achievements; words are obscured by flowery rhetoric. Hence arise the disputes between Confucianism and Mohism over right and wrong." The Dao is omnipresent, yet clinging to these minor achievements such as benevolence, righteousness and morality, as well as flowery words, will obscure and hide the Dao, leading to disputes over right and wrong and the impairment of the Dao. Only by not being preoccupied with minor achievements, erasing distinctions, blending right and wrong, and conforming to nature can one realize the obscured Dao. To unify all things and equate right and wrong is both the fundamental principle of the Dao and the method to comprehend the Great Dao.
